Two young indian men designed shoes with GPS, which are useful for blind people. They are made up of a bluetooth connection template receiving orders from a smart phone, so wearers are routed through google maps. Eeach shoe vibrates to the right or to left, showing the necessary turns along the route.
The new technologies have made possible that a large amount of government data which were previously in the custody of the state, can be made available to all citizens without any restriction( open data) and used to create services seeking to solve social problems.
Colombia entered the Global Open Data Index, being ranked 12th on the global list next to Paraguay. The ICT Ministry is promoting efforts so that the available data volumen is increased.
We also took part in the Programa de Aceleración Empresarial( Business Aceleration Program) , promoted by the Medellin mayor’s office, with the support of Creame ( Business incubator), event from we were greatly benefited. The previously mentioned was a huge step for our company, because since then, they provide us with on-going support in our “search for funding and scaling ” , with the advice of expert consultants.
Thanks to this program, we have been able to take part in several Net’s- Me events in which we have had the opportinuty to share experiences with many entrepreneurs from different industry sectors.
On November 18th, 2013, Enterdev applied for the call 638, 2013, named “Locomotora de innovación para empresas” (Business Innovation Engine) by Colciencias. In early April, 2014, we were notified that our company had been chosen and therefore our new project would be funded , which was great news for the Enterdev family.
